Operations Team Leader
Savers Stead House DC

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 22:00-06:00
Total Hours Per Week: 40

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the successful Superdrug Supply Chain, working within one of our three busy Distribution Centres as a Team Leader.

This vacancy is for the Stead House Distribution Centre, based in Darlington. The hours will predominantly be as stated above, but flexibility across all shift patterns will be required.

About the role

A Team Leader supports the Shift Managers with daily management and coordination of site operations, leading a team within a designated area of the Distribution Centre.

Our operation at SHDC supplies stock to over 200 stores across the Savers Stores Network. This is a fast-paced role in a busy environment.

A passion for results will ensure standards are maintained or exceeded. Working as “One Team,” you'll help maximize operational efficiencies, encourage growth and innovation, and promote safe working practices to ensure a supply chain that makes our customers smile!

Key roles and responsibilities:

• Take ownership of all People Management issues for colleagues within your area, engaging with the shift manager and people team to ensure fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures.
• Motivate, coach, and develop your team to perform effectively, utilizing all training and development tools.
• Be fully accountable for nominated KPIs in your area, communicating status regularly with the shift manager.
• Review and develop processes to maximize efficiencies, communicating with management for implementation.
• Collaborate with Health & Safety teams to update safe systems of work and risk assessments, ensuring effective communication of changes.
• Deliver seamless shift handovers to the incoming team.
• Update the Shift Manager on daily progress, identifying and resolving issues.
• Model a site culture aligned with company values.
• Promote good health and safety practices across the team.
• Assist with ad hoc projects, reports, and deputize as Shift Manager when needed.
• Conduct team briefings as required.
