Job description

DP World is currently recruiting for an Operations Supervisor to join our fast-paced site based in Hinckley. In this role, you will oversee business operations, delegate tasks to team members, and resolve problems that occur during shifts. The position operates on a weekly rotating shift pattern:
- Week 1: 12pm-8.30pm
- Week 2: 2pm - 10.30pm
- Week 3: 4pm - 12.30am
Plus, one Sunday work per month.

About the role:

• Manage all on-shift Health, Safety, and Environmental issues, including safety incident investigations and corrective actions. Ensure all employees understand safe working practices and adhere to site H&S procedures.
• Identify and implement corrective actions to meet departmental KPIs and suggest process improvements to enhance operational performance.
• Represent the department in internal and external customer meetings. Communicate shift issues and performance during team briefs and attend reviews and walk-throughs.
• Manage manpower effectively to support delivery requirements, incorporating Lean Manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement activities. Enforce absence control procedures to maximize attendance and handle personnel issues per company policy.
• Maintain accurate Standard Work documentation, audit employees against standards, and coach staff to ensure process consistency and a zero-tolerance approach to deviations.
• Identify training needs using tools like training matrices and gap analyses, and ensure all training is properly documented.
• Drive departmental quality objectives, including conducting PPS activities and root cause analyses for freight, scrap, or stock loss issues.
• Assist with engineering changes, production trials, model changes, and pilot builds.
• Support the development of customer proposals, including process flow diagrams, KPIs, and facility layouts, with support from the Solutions team.
• Collaborate with senior management to set and drive organizational vision, strategy, and hiring plans.
• Implement organizational strategies, cascading goals, performance management, and operational planning across the business.
• Supervise operations and productivity, fostering an inclusive culture where team members can thrive and organizational goals are achieved.
• Ensure effective onboarding, professional development, and retention of staff.

Your Key Skills:
