We are the Amazon Worldwide Fulfillment (Global Logistics) team in Europe and are looking for an Operations Specialist to join our Customs Brokerage and Trade Compliance team. As part of the Worldwide Fulfillment team, your role is pivotal in pioneering new ways of thinking, designing, and delivering innovative solutions impacting customers across the world.

As an Operations Specialist in the EU Customs and Trade Compliance org, you will lead the customs brokerage operations and cross border compliance working with both internal Amazon and external Customs Brokers. You will manage cross-border Customs operations and independently lead programs to improve trade compliance in our cross-border exports network.

Key job responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day performance (on time performance, defect rate, cost per unit) of multiple Customs Brokers.
  • Ensure Brokers perform to the agreed operating standards and that volumes are allocated according to the commercial agreement.
  • Ensure that Brokers and the cross-border network are fully compliant with external and internal trade regulations and policies.
  • Lead Weekly Business Reviews (WBRs) with Brokers to address performance issues and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with senior management to discuss initiatives.
  • Identify at-risk operations and develop/execute contingency plans to minimize service failures.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to troubleshoot defects and optimize processes.
  • Coordinate with Brokers for Peak period plans and provide on-site support as needed.
  • Support onboarding of new Brokers and product launches that add value for customers and Amazon.
  • Travel within the EU/UK will be required at least twice a year.

As an Operations Specialist, you will lead customs brokerage operations and cross border compliance, managing cross-border Customs operations and leading programs to enhance trade compliance in our exports network.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exposure to or experience in international trade compliance or operations risk management.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher.
  • Proven track record in logistics and supplier management.
  • Basic knowledge of international logistics and trade.
  • Strong analytical skills, proficiency in data analysis and reporting (MS Excel, SQL).
  • Excellent English communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification.
  • Experience with technology, lean principles, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Master's degree or equivalent.
  • Fluency in other EU languages (French or German).
  • Ability to handle ambiguity, conflicting priorities, and multicultural environments.
