Position: Operations Planner

Location: Exeter

Hours: Monday-Friday, 05:45-15:45

Salary: £28,500

About the Role: We're seeking a proactive and organised individual to join our client's team in Exeter in a dual-capacity role. As an Operations Planner, you will support the daily management of transport logistics, overseeing driver schedules, fleet coordination, and ensuring smooth freight operations to and from local agents and airports. Additionally, you will serve as a relief delivery driver when required, transporting goods nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Efficiently handle inbound phone calls, ensuring quick and professional responses.
2. Support customer service by addressing client requirements.
3. Manually plan drivers' routes, schedules, and daily plans.
4. Coordinate deliveries and identify potential service improvements.
5. Assist with vehicle loading/unloading and secure freight safely.
6. Carry out scheduled deliveries, maintain journey logs, and monitor vehicle performance.
7. Perform minor vehicle maintenance and report faults.
8. Build strong working relationships with team members and support leadership objectives.
9. Adhere to company protocols, especially those aligned with BSI/ISO standards.
10. Comply with all Health & Safety and Aviation Security regulations.

What we're looking for:

• Minimum 2 years' experience in transport or logistics operations.
• Good knowledge of the local area, including the ability to route drivers manually.
• Working knowledge of Level D Aviation Security and Hazardous Goods Awareness.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence in reading instructions and completing routine paperwork.
• A valid driving license, with no DD, CT, IN10, TT endorsements.
