Job summary

Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an Operations Officer to join the Waste Care team at Blowers Green Depot, Dudley. You will oversee daily operations, manage resources and vehicles, handle welfare visits and safety checks, and respond to residents’ enquiries and complaints.

The role requires a strong commitment to health and safety, with a 37-hour work week (05:30–17:00) and occasional out-of-hours work. Salary Grade 8: £36,581–£39,481 per annum.

Job Introduction

Operations Officer – We are seeking an individual to join the Operations Officer team within Waste Care . The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising Waste Care operations, including the day-to-day management of the operational workforce, planning resources and vehicles, conducting welfare visits, carrying out health and safety inspections, and responding positively to residents’ enquiries and complaints .

A strong commitment to health, safety and employee wellbeing is essential. The role requires ensuring that safe working practices are maintained at all times, undertaking regular safety checks, promoting compliance with health and safety procedures, and supporting a positive safety culture across all operational activities .

The role requires flexibility to meet operational requirements, both in terms of duties and working hours. This is a 37-hour-per-week position, with working hours between 05:30 and 17:00, and may also require occasional out-of-hours working .

The role is a Grade 8 £36,581 to £39,481 per annum.
