Job summary

Summer-Browning Associates is seeking an Operations Manager on a six-month assignment to support a defence project. Hybrid working from Bristol, with responsibilities for budget monitoring and implementing the operational strategy.

The role requires Active SC clearance and a strong background in delivery operations management, including acquisition, stock control, and logistics coordination at a high level.

Qualifications

• Active SC clearance required.
• Background in delivery Operations Management support.
• Experience developing and implementing an acquisition strategy aligned with Category A Approval.
• Knowledge of stock control, contract management, ensuring milestones are met, standards being maintained, service surveillance.
• Experience coordinating logistics at a high level (cargo, freight).
• Experience planning and executing operational trials, testing and evaluation activities.

Summer-Browning Associates is currently supporting our defence client, who is seeking x2 Operations Manager for an initial six-month assignment with the option to extend.

Location:

Hybrid working - Bristol

About the role:

You will be responsible for monitoring and control project budgets, ensuring financial accountability and cost efficiency. In addition, supporting the development and implementation of the operational strategy for the project.

The ideal candidate will hold Active SC and have a strong background in delivery Operations Management support, with the following skills and experience:

• Experience of developing and implementing an acquisition strategy aligned with Category A Approval requirements.
• Need to understand stock control, contract management, ensuring all milestones are met, standards being maintained, service surveillance.
• Experience in co-ordination and logistics which needs to be at a high level ie cargo, freight.
• Experience in supporting the planning and execution of operational trials, testing, and evaluation activities.
