Role Overview

The Operations Manager is part of the Area General Manager team, responsible for leading and managing the operations and signalling community within the route. This role involves overseeing daily railway operations, ensuring safety, and managing relationships with passenger and freight operators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct a team of Local Operations Managers.
  • Lead operational safety initiatives, including assurance checks and incident investigations.
  • Review control logs and incidents daily to facilitate effective operations discussions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Requirements
  • Leadership experience and people management skills.
  • Operational management experience and competence.
  • Ability to attain rules and regulations level 2 competency.
  • Possession of Rail Incident Officer certification.
  • Experience with Employee Relations and financial systems.
  • IT skills for report writing and use of corporate IT packages.
  • Full, clean UK driving license.

Additional Information
