Brief Description
The Operations and Customer Services function manages the railway's day-to-day operations. It delivers train paths, timetabling, and train movements to ensure safety and meet customer needs. The function owns and manages business relationships with passenger and freight operators and external stakeholders. It provides clear ownership of operating responsibilities for all customers and stakeholders. The area delivery units are the building blocks of engineering and operational excellence.
The Operations Manager is part of the Area General Manager team, responsible for leading and directing the management of the operations and signalling community in the route.
Please note: There will be an on-call requirement for this role.
About the role (External)
As Operations Manager, you'll manage and direct a team of Local Operations Managers, providing leadership in operational safety and train service delivery. Your day will start with reviewing the previous day's control log and TRUST incidents, preparing for the morning conference focused on train delays and infrastructure incidents. This discussion helps coordinate responses from operations and maintenance teams.
You will lead operational safety efforts, conduct assurance checks, develop special working methods, and investigate safety incidents.

Salary: Band 3C - £55,596 to £63,797 plus 4% operations allowance. Salary dependent on competencies.
