Job summary

Aspect Resources is seeking an Operations Manager for a 6-month contract based in Bristol with hybrid onsite work (60% on site). The role carries an Umbrella daily rate of £650 and Inside IR35 status.

You will support acquisition strategies, define project objectives with stakeholders, and assist in governance and documentation for MOD approvals. Essential experience includes operations management in defence-related environments, MOD approvals, and development of business cases and contract

Qualifications

• Experience of operations management in a project, programme, engineering, logistics, or defence-related environment.
• Experience supporting MOD approvals, public-sector approvals or equivalent governance and assurance activity.
• Experience supporting the development of business case, procurement, requirements or contract documentation.
• Experience managing actions, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, schedules and management information in a project or programme environment.
• Experience of MOD systems such as NAWDAS and MJDI

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of acquisition strategies aligned with Category A Approval requirements, project objectives and wider programme outcomes.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, requirements, deliverables, assumptions, dependencies and operational priorities.
• Support the WH2 team and Torps ISS Operations Managers in planning, coordinating and monitoring activity across Heavyweight and Lightweight support workstreams.
• Support the Complex Weapons Control Account Managers in managing contract outputs, supplier performance, delivery milestones, financial information and supporting evidence.
• Assist in the drafting, review and coordination of System Requirements, Statements of Requirement, Invitations to Negotiate, Outline Business Cases and Full Business Cases.
• Support the preparation, assurance and submission of documentation required for Category A Approval and related MOD governance activity.

As an Operations Manager your main responsibilities will be to:

• Support the development and implementation of acquisition strategies aligned with Category A Approval requirements, project objectives and wider programme outcomes.

Desirable:

• Previous military service experience.
• Experience supporting Category A acquisition activity, strategic approvals, OBC or FBC development.
• Experience supporting Tactical Development firing trials, operational trials, training activity or in-water trials.
• Experience working with Navy Command, defence suppliers, contract delivery teams or operational support organisations.
