Operations Manager (O&M)

We’re seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to lead the successful delivery of contracts safely, on programme, and on budget, ensuring client satisfaction. This key leadership role involves overseeing Contracts Managers, ensuring project standards are met, fostering client relationships, and liaising with subcontractors and suppliers.

You will play a vital role in shaping project outcomes, strengthening client relationships, and driving innovation in installation methods and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Attend pre-contract meetings with senior commercial staff.
2. Understand contract and client requirements for project performance and delivery.
3. Ensure Contract Managers keep construction programmes and milestones on track.
4. Supervise Contract Managers to adhere to QA procedures, ensuring defect-free and successful project completion.
5. Oversee health and safety plans and standards across all sites.
6. Assist in selecting and securing labour and subcontractors for projects nationwide.
7. Participate in key site meetings to manage client expectations.
8. Review and improve systems and methods for better contract performance.
9. Conduct staff reviews within the team.
10. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and promote company services.
11. Engage with potential clients and contribute to bid teams.
12. Promote adherence to company policies on equality and health & safety.
13. Contribute to trading forecasts and participate in monthly commercial reviews.

The Person

1. Several years’ experience as a Contracts or Operations Manager managing large or multiple projects.
2. Experience as Principal Contractor & Principal Designer on projects.
3. A proven track record in a related engineering environment.
4. HND/degree in Engineering or a related field is essential.
