Job summary

Novus Property Solutions is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead fast-track refurbishment and fit-out projects across Leisure, Retail and Education sectors. You will manage inception-to-completion processes, including architectural design, construction delivery, and M&E elements, while driving profitability and client satisfaction.

• Strong commercial and business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Ensure contracts are completed to programme, client satisfaction is maintained and profit margins are met.
• Assist with regional business plan along with development of operational plan.
• Support bid team with accurate build up and submission of tenders/quotations within their area of responsibility.
• Ensure adequate pre-contract planning takes place so that contracts are delivered in line with profit requirements.
• Continually monitor contracts to ensure delivery in line with cost plans.
• Submit accurate monthly valuations to the Head of Operations and management meetings.
• Identify potential business development opportunities and manage.
• Support bid team by submitting requests for technical information timely/accurately.
• Manage Health, Safety and Welfare on contracts, staff, clients and the general public; carry out training and development reviews.
• Ensure that the company's policies and procedures are being met.
• Ensure that sales invoices are submitted accurately and in line with costs/client deadlines.
• Continually monitor staff and resources to identify requirements, interview and recruit staff to meet these requirements

Job description

Location: Head office based - Stoke on Trent, Hybrid working, Office/Home Site, typically working Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week, hybrid working - the role will require some National travel and potentially over night stays

With a strong understanding of JCT Design & Build contracts and a proven track record within fast-track fit-out and refurbishment environments, you'll oversee the operational, commercial, and contractual performance of the business stream. From driving growth and maintaining client satisfaction to leading high-performing teams, you'll be instrumental in shaping both project success and the wider strategic direction of the business.

An outline of your responsibility as an Operations Manager

• Ensure contracts are completed to programme, client satisfaction is maintained and profit margins are met.
  
• Assist with the production of their regional business plan along with the development of their specific operational plan.
• Responsible for supporting the bid team with accurate build up and submission of tenders/quotations within their area of responsibility
• Ensuring that adequate pre-contract planning takes place so that contracts are delivered in line with profit requirements.
• Continually monitor contracts to ensure delivery in line with cost plans.
• Submit accurate monthly valuations to the Head of Operations presentto both external clients and internal management meetings.
• Identify potential business development opportunities and manage

• Manage the Health, Safety and Welfare on contracts, staff, clients and the general public. Ensuring the production and distribution of compliant H & S information,carry outtraining and development reviews.

About You

As an experienced Operations Manager you will have a high degree of both commercial and business acumen, experience of working with Fast track refurbishment works contracts within Leisure (Hotels), Retail and Student accommodation and the ability to nurture new client relationships and develop existing ones with established clients. Ideally you will hold a Level 5 Management qualification, not essential, it’s the knowledge and skills that’s essential to us. Our preferred candidate will be experienced, knowledgeable, a self starter who is focused on delivery and able to communicate well with the team to ensure everyday runs smoothly. Along with IT Skills, you will need to hold a Full UK driving licence.
