Job summary

Operations Manager

Retail, Commercial and Leisure Projects

Up to £85,000-£88,000 + Full Benefits and Package

An established construction, refurbishment and specialist services contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to join its senior leadership team.

This is a key strategic appointment, sitting directly beneath the board of directors and taking responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the operational management structure.

The Role

Reporting directly to the directors, you will oversee the senior management team and play a significant role in driving operational performance, client relationships and business growth.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leadership and management of senior personnel including Contracts Managers, Health & Safety, HR and other business support functions.
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, profitably and to the highest quality standards.
• Supporting and developing long-term client relationships across key accounts and framework agreements.
• Providing strategic oversight across multiple projects and operational teams.
• Driving operational efficiency, resource planning and business performance.
• Working closely with the directors to support the continued growth of the business.
• Supporting tendering activity and helping secure new opportunities.
• Acting as a senior point of contact for both clients and operational teams.

About You

The successful candidate is likely to come from a background within the construction, fit-out, refurbishment or retail delivery sectors.

You will also have:

• Strong leadership experience managing senior operational teams.
• Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
• A proven track record delivering multiple projects simultaneously.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to support business growth.
• Experience within retail, food & beverage, refurbishment or framework-led environments.
• Tier One or Tier Two contractor experience would be highly advantageous.
• The credibility and presence to provide confidence to both clients and project teams.
