Job summary

mbf is seeking an Operations Manager to be the right hand to the Managing Director, aligning people, projects, systems and processes with the MD’s vision.

You’ll turn the Business Plan into priorities, lead and develop the team, drive process improvements and technology projects, and oversee budgets and management information while maintaining FCA/ICO compliance with external specialists.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in business or operations management.
• Minimum 2 years' team leadership and project management experience.
• Broad HR knowledge and strong organisational, analytical and communication skills.
• Interest in technology and continual improvement; practical commitment to sustainability.
• Desirable: financial services experience, financial or compliance knowledge; Advanced Excel, Power Automate or Power BI.

We’re working with a highly successful, fully independent financial planning firm to recruit an Operations Manager. Our client is a respected name in the market, offering holistic services to a growing portfolio of clients. The business has grown organically over the last 12-18 months and they’re looking to continue that growth into the future.

They’re now looking for an Operations Manager to be the right hand to the Managing Director. It’s a genuine second-in-command role with a direct say in where the business goes next.

The role

You’ll be the bridge between the MD’s vision and day-to-day delivery, making sure people, projects, systems and processes all pull in the same direction. You’ll be:

• Turning the Business Plan into clear priorities and measurable delivery
• Leading and developing the team, including planners, paraplanners, compliance and admin
• Driving process improvement and leading change, technology and AI projects
• Overseeing budgets, forecasts and management information
• Managing day-to-day FCA and ICO compliance alongside external specialists

What you’ll bring

• At least 2 years’ experience in business or operations management
