Job summary

Kier Group plc in Essex (Stansted) is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our Construction team across multiple live sites, based in Stansted. You will manage resources, safety, and project delivery on contracts up to £75m, ensuring quality and on-time completion.

You will oversee pre-construction through to practical completion, maximise profitability, maintain client relationships, and lead a multi-disciplinary team with performance reviews and succession planning.

Qualifications

• Degree/HND in Construction required.
• CSCS card and SMSTS certification required.
• Experience managing production teams across multiple live construction sites.
• Strong knowledge of contract conditions and law within the industry.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and manage a demanding workload.

• Managing the efficient execution of contracts to maximise return while maintaining client relationships.
• Overseeing project delivery from pre-construction through to practical completion, ensuring quality and progress.

Job description

We’re looking for an Operations Manager to join our Construction team based in Essex (Stansted)., Location: Essex (Stansted), covering Suffolk, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire & BuckinghamshireHours: 37.5 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

As an Operations Manager, you’ll be working within the Eastern South business unit, supporting them in building projects that support and develop local communities. You’ll manage operational resources including people, finances and physical assets to deliver a portfolio of contracts safely, on time and to the required quality. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact, managing projects valued up to £75m annually within a growing portfolio that exceeds £150m.

What will you be responsible for?

As an Operations Manager, you’ll be working within the Construction team, supporting them in delivering high-quality building projects. Your day to day will include:

Requirements

You have a Degree/HND in Construction and are professionally qualified or working towards membership of a Professional Body

• You possess strong commercial awareness with knowledge of contract conditions and law within the industry
• You can communicate effectively at all levels and manage a demanding and varying workload
