Operations Manager

Location: Leighton Buzzard Office, typically working Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week, hybrid working (minimum 3 days in the office) (Region covered South East)

Along with utilising your Operations Management skills in Social Housing Refurbishment & Planned works, you will have responsibility for the day to day running of the business stream, commercial, contract performance, driving growth and client satisfaction, providing leadership and direction, you will play a pivotal role in the strategy and direction of the business unit. Using your expertise in mentoring to monitor and develop your team.

An outline of your responsibility as an Operations Manager

  • Ensure contracts are completed to programme, client satisfaction is maintained and profit margins are met.
  • Ensure that sales invoices are submitted accurately and in line with costs/client deadlines.
  • Assist with the production of their regional business plan along with the development of their specific operational plan.
  • Responsible for supporting the bid team with accurate build up and submission of tenders/quotations within their area of responsibility
  • Ensuring that adequate pre-contract planning takes place so that contracts are delivered in line with profit requirements.
  • Continually monitor contracts to ensure delivery in line with cost plans.
  • Submit accurate monthly valuations to the Head of Operations present to both external clients and internal management meetings.
  • Identify potential business development opportunities and manage
  • Support bid team by submitting requests for technical information timely/accurately
  • Manage the Health, Safety and Welfare on contracts, staff, clients and the general public. Ensuring the production and distribution of compliant H & S information, carry out training and development reviews.
  • Ensure that the company's policies and procedures are being met
  • Continually monitor staff and resources to identify requirements, interview and recruit staff to meet these requirements

About You

As an experienced Operations Manager you will have a high degree of both commercial and business acumen, experience of working within planned works contracts within social housing/retrofit environment and the ability to nurture new client relationships and develop existing ones with established clients. Ideally you will hold a Level 5 Management qualification, not essential, it’s the knowledge and skills that’s essential to us. Our preferred candidate will be experienced, knowledgeable, a self starter who is focused on delivery and able to communicate well with the team to ensure everyday runs smoothly. Along with IT Skills, you will need to hold a Full UK driving licence.
