As The Present Tree grows, we’re looking for people who are happy to roll up their sleeves, share their skills and join us on this tree-filled journey. Our work is sometimes fast-paced, always meaningful and full of energy.

You’ll love this role if you are:

  • Energetic, positive and enjoy working as part of a motivated team
  • Aligned with the values of an ethical, founder-led business

About the Role:

The Operations Manager will play a central role in keeping The Present Tree running smoothly as we continue to grow. This is a people-first leadership role, focused on supporting, motivating and bringing out the best in the team, while ensuring that day-to-day operations, stock and production are well managed and organised.

You’ll work closely with teams across the business, helping everyone stay aligned, informed and supported. Collaboration is at the heart of how we work, ideas are shared openly, challenges are tackled together and creativity is encouraged. We aim to work harmoniously, combining clear structure with flexibility, so the team feels confident, trusted and energised in their roles.

This is a hands-on position for someone with a can-do attitude who enjoys being involved on the ground. You will manage people and processes, helping translate plans into practical action. By creating clarity, consistency and strong communication, you’ll help the team work efficiently while maintaining a supportive and enjoyable workplace.

    • Support stock management and oversee production to meet demand
    • Review, improve and document processes to support sustainable growth
    • Identify opportunities for greater efficiency and implement practical, people-friendly improvements
    • Resolve operational issues that impact customer delivery or product quality
    • Maintain clear, accurate operational records and documentation
    • Work collaboratively with other team members to support strategic decision-making
    • Report directly to the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and CEO to implement their new strategies
    • Daily prioritisation of tasks and delegating for the team, across the garden and production teams
  • People Management:
    • Manage, support and develop members of the operations team
    • Lead with positivity, motivating the team to work efficiently and confidently
    • Create clarity around roles, responsibilities and priorities
    • Plan workloads thoughtfully and realistically, particularly during peak seasonal periods
    • Support onboarding and training within the operations function
    • Foster a collaborative, accountable and supportive team culture where people feel valued and empowered
Skills and Experience
  • Highly reliable, proactive and a strong team player
  • Strong organisational skills with a calm, solutions-focused approach
  • Proven experience motivating teams, setting priorities and reviewing progress
  • Experience managing people and overseeing day-to-day operational processes
  • Clear, confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable using systems, spreadsheets and operational tools (particularly Google sheets or Excel)
  • Experience in an operations management or similar role
  • Experience working in a growing or scaling business
  • Knowledge of supplier management and stock control
  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • 28 days holiday per year, plus an extra day off on your birthday
