Job summary

Cammach are recruiting an Operations Manager for a permanent role with a North of Aberdeen welding and fabrication company. You will manage day-to-day fabrication operations, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery aligned with customer requirements.

Key responsibilities include leading HSE, coordinating workshop activities, supervising teams, and driving continuous improvement while liaising with QC and other departments to maintain delivery performance.

Responsibilities

• Champion and comply with HSE requirements and promote safety and housekeeping in the workshop.
• Ensure fabrication, quality and inspection procedures are followed.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor workshop activities to meet schedules and delivery dates.
• Delegate projects and work instructions to Operations Supervisors and Delivery Coordinator.
• Manage timesheets, overtime, holiday requests, return-to-work processes and inductions.
• Lead regular production meetings and track project progress.
• Maintain project execution plans and trackers with the Project Manager.
• Carry out routine inspections of fabrication activities and progress.
• Conduct toolbox talks with workshop and coordination teams.
• Support close-out of improvement reports and NCRs.
• Liaise with QC Manager on piping/structural weld repairs and quality issues.
• Collaborate with Operations, Projects and QC to resolve issues and maintain delivery.

Manage the day-to-day fabrication operations, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, to the required quality standards and in line with customer requirements.

Business Development

Work closely with the Directors to:

• Support and deliver the growth strategy for fabrication and site/offshore services.
• Support the development of new business streams and scopes.

Responsibilities

• Champion and comply with the organisation’s HSE requirements, promoting a strong safety culture and good housekeeping across the workshop.
• Ensure fabrication, quality and inspection procedures are consistently followed.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor workshop activities to achieve agreed schedules and delivery dates.
• Delegate projects and work instructions to Operations Supervisors and the Delivery Coordinator.
• Ensure effective completion and administration of timesheets, overtime, holiday requests, return-to-work processes, inductions and timekeeping.
• Lead regular production meetings and ensure schedules accurately reflect project progress and delivery requirements.
• Maintain and update project execution plans and trackers in conjunction with the Project Manager or nominated delegate.
• Carry out routine inspections of fabrication activities and project progress.
• Ensure regular toolbox talks are conducted with workshop and coordination teams.
• Support the close-out of improvement reports and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Liaise with the QC Manager regarding piping and structural weld repairs, rework and associated quality issues.
• Work collaboratively with Operations, Projects and QC teams to resolve issues and maintain delivery performance.
