Job summary

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a General Manager for General Surgery & Services to lead operational management and business development across General Surgery, including Vascular, Colorectal and Breast services.

The role reports to the Head of Operations and focuses on delivering high-quality, safe patient care, achieving performance targets, and driving service improvements within SDUs and related portfolios.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operational management and business development for General Surgery and related services.
• Lead on performance targets and service delivery improvements.
• Develop local delivery plans aligned with corporate objectives.
• Manage projects to modernise services and facilities.
• Ensure strong financial performance and early problem identification.
• Maintain effective communication across SDUs and relevant service areas.
• Provide day-to-day operational management reporting to Head of Operations.
• Address day-to-day operational issues with clinical teams and resolve swiftly.
