Job summary

Join AWS at a pivotal moment in our growth in the UK. This leadership role will play a key part in our plans to invest £8 billion to expand and support data centre infrastructure.

The Cluster Leader is one of our most senior management roles in the data centre environment. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a large organization, managing department heads who own data centre facility infrastructure including the operational availability of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. The pace, scale, and growth of Amazon’s data centre platform will challenge you. Our uncompromisingly high standards as we continually seek to innovate on behalf of our customers will push you to new levels of creativity.

At this level, Amazon is unique in that we seek experienced senior leaders who have evolved to be highly strategic in their approach to managing their business unit, yet understand how to lead large teams by example who will not hesitate to roll up their sleeves when tactical needs dictate it.

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience of leading large organisations, with data centre experience not required to be successful in this role.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or an equivalent engineering science
• Experience leading large teams, with demonstrable ability to hire, develop, and manage high-performing technical teams
• Experience with hiring, promoting, performance management, and developing teams of professional construction/engineering staff

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering complex projects with prior ownership of the operation of a mission‑critical team and/or product
