Job summary

NHS Jobs is seeking an Operational Manager for Audiology/Histopathology to lead the performance and delivery of services within the portfolio. You will ensure robust performance management against national standards and provide day-to-day management to service teams.

You will analyse data from diverse sources to drive knowledge-based decisions, lead on clinical governance and risk management, and work with the Directorate Triumvirate on strategic plans and resource utilisation.

Qualifications

• Experience in performance management of clinical services.
• Ability to analyse data from multiple sources into actionable knowledge.
• Demonstrated leadership of service managers and teams.
• Knowledge of clinical risk, governance and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management of services within the portfolio and ensure delivery against constitutional standards and national standards.
• Attend weekly performance meetings and articulate performance levels, deviations, and mitigation strategies.
• Analyse and interpret data to support knowledge management and service improvement.
• Provide leadership and support to service managers to achieve safe, effective delivery.
• Support with clinical service delivery, governance, and risk management; escalate concerns as needed.
• Develop and implement business plans, respond to patient needs, and contribute to strategic planning and budget setting.
