Job summary

Undergraduates working towards a minimum of a 2:1 in a related discipline are invited to join Eaton's Luton plant as a Quality Assurance Intern. Based in Bedfordshire, you will start in July 2027 and work within the Quality Team to understand and improve the QMS for controlled documents and conduct process audits in top-tier electronics manufacturing.

You will be mentored to use quality tools, shadow Test Technicians, and develop quality reports as part of your on-the-job training and external

Qualifications

• Some quality experience by way of education or hobby interest.
• Good communication and networking skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Quality Team to understand the QMS for controlled documents and how it is used and controlled.
• Learn to conduct process audits of key electronic manufacturing areas ensuring standards are met.
• Use quality tools and standards to deliver assurance at top tier standards.
• Carry out quality investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions and customer assurance under guidance.
• Collect metrics related to Quality and the department to monitor product and department performance.
• Shadow Quality Test Technicians to understand electronics hardware testing and fault finding at component level.
• Write up quality reports using the training materials and tools.

Day To Day Duties

• Working within the Quality Team to understand how the QMS (Quality Management System) for controlled documents is used, maintained and most importantly controlled.
• Learning to conduct process audits of key electronic manufacturing areas ensuring all standards are being met and followed.
• Using Quality tools and standards to deliver assurance at top tier standard electronics manufacturing plant.
• Carrying out under guidance Quality investigations, their root causes, resolve, prevention and assurance to the customer.
• Collecting metrics relating to Quality and the department, understanding how they are analysed and how they are used to monitor the performance of the products we build and our department.
• Shadowing our Quality Test Technicians- Understanding how Electronics hardware testing is done and fault finding down to component level is undertaken.
• Writing up quality reports using tools and methodology learnt during the training.
