InterAct Consulting supports a fintech client in the UK that is seeking an Operations Engineering Lead to shape the future of technology and infrastructure. The role is fully remote with monthly meet-ups in Central London.

You will own AWS infrastructure, drive the DevOps function, reliability, security and developer experience, and lead a team of 5–7 Operations Engineers to deliver scalable, secure services.

Qualifications

• 3+ years leading engineering/infrastructure/DevOps or operations teams.
• 10+ years in cloud infrastructure with strong AWS knowledge.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong monitoring, observability and incident management knowledge.
• Knowledge of Docker and cloud security best practices.
• Ability to set direction and make architectural decisions.
• Collaborative, pragmatic leadership to develop teams.

An established and exciting client of ours in the fintech space is expanding once again and looking for an experienced Operations Engineering Lead to help shape the future of its technology and infrastructure. The role is fully remote, with monthly meet-ups in Central London.

As Operations Engineering Lead, you'll take ownership of the AWS infrastructure and operations function, setting the strategic direction across cloud infrastructure, DevOps, reliability, security and developer experience.

You'll lead and develop a team of talented Operations Engineers, combining strong technical expertise with people leadership to build a scalable, secure and resilient engineering environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of 5-7 Operations Engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Define and drive the strategy for AWS, cloud infrastructure and DevOps.

What We're Looking For

• Leadership experience: At least 3 years of experience leading engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, SRE or operations teams.
• AWS and cloud expertise: 10+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, with strong AWS knowledge.
• DevOps and automation: Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
• Reliability and observability: A solid understanding of monitoring, observability and incident management.
• Containers and security: Knowledge of Docker and cloud security best practices.
• Technical and strategic leadership: The ability to set direction, solve complex problems and make sound architectural decisions.
• People leadership: A collaborative, pragmatic approach to developing teams and creating an environment where engineers can thrive.
