Job summary

Legal 500 seeks an experienced Operations Director to drive operational maturity and governance across the business. Based in Leeds, you will partner with the CFO and leadership to embed scalable ways of working, strengthen systems, and support strategic change.

The role focuses on leading the IT team and expanding centralised services over time. Hybrid work pattern (3 days in office, 2 days remote) with travel to London and Bristol offices.

Qualifications

• Experience leading operational functions within a growing organisation.
• Experience managing or overseeing technology and business services teams.
• Track record of delivering meaningful organisational change and operational improvement.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across multiple teams, functions and locations.
• Experience introducing structure, governance and scalable operational processes.
• Understanding of recognised frameworks (ISO, Cyber Essentials) or bespoke for the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the IT team, ensuring service delivery aligned with business priorities.
• Drive operational improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Partner with leaders to strengthen governance, controls and ways of working.
• Deliver cross-functional projects that improve resilience and performance.
• Champion information security and risk management across the organisation.
• Oversee key business systems, technology suppliers and external partners.
• Support scalable processes, governance frameworks and standards across the organisation.
• Contribute as a Senior Management Team member and lead from the Leeds office.
• Shape the future direction of Operations as centralised services are brought together over time.
