Job summary

Quilter plc is recruiting for a data-focused Cost to Serve analyst in Southampton for a 6-month fixed-term contract/secondment. You will translate operational activity into cost insights, partnering with Operations, Finance and the Data Centre of Excellence to identify opportunities for process re-engineering and investment decisions.

You will quantify cost drivers, build robust models, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and tangible business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Interest in finance, data and how processes translate into cost.
• Analytical mindset; curiosity to understand why behind the numbers.
• Attention to detail when working with large data sets.
• Confidence using Excel (lookups, basic modelling) and willingness to grow skills.
• Ability to work with financial and non-financial stakeholders to gather information.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Proactive, inquisitive approach to challenge and improve processes.
• Clear communication when explaining data or findings.
• Exposure to process mapping, operational analysis or activity-based costing.

Responsibilities

• Support analysis of operational cost drivers, connecting financial data to activities.
• Help develop Cost to Serve models to improve cost visibility at process level.
• Collaborate with Data CoE and Operations to structure and validate data.
• Identify trends, anomalies and areas of high manual effort or inefficiency.
• Quantify benefits from process improvements, automation, or re-engineering.
• Ensure outputs are robust, well-documented and usable in business cases.
