Job summary

Talentmark are recruiting a Waste Operations Chemist to join an Environmental and Waste Management company at their site near Darrington on a full time, permanent basis. The salary for this role ranges from £28,000 to £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

The Operations Chemist will perform chemical and physical waste analysis, inspection and testing for acceptance, interpret laboratory results and ensure safety procedures are upheld.

Qualifications

• Chemistry Degree/HND required.
• Waste/Water testing experience, preferably using spectrophotometry.
• Hazardous Waste classification and consignment knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

• Chemical and Physical analysis of Waste.
• Inspection and testing of waste for acceptance.
• Interpretation of laboratory results.
• Maintenance, QC and calibration of laboratory equipment.
• Ensuring safety procedures are upheld.

Location:

The Operations Chemist will be based at the company's site near Darrington, easily commutable from Wakefield, Knottingley, Castleford, Leeds, Bradford, Doncaster and Scunthorpe.

Operations Chemist Role:

• Chemical and Physical analysis of Waste.
• Inspection and testing of waste for acceptance.
• Interpretation of laboratory results.
• Maintenance, QC and Calibration of laboratory equipment.
• Ensuring safety procedures are always upheld.

Your Background:

• Chemistry Degree/HND.
• Waste/Water testing experience using spectrophotometry.
• Hazardous Waste classification and consignment experience.
• Entitlement to work in the UK is essential.
