Job description

Hoxton is a client-side workplace partner working across real estate, workplace strategy, workplace environment, and the wider decisions that shape workplace performance.

We're built for clients who want clear thinking, commercial judgement, and delivery that holds up in the real world. We say what we think, we make the call, and we stay close to the work from first conversation through to handover.

This is not a business built on layers, scripts, or politics. It's built on the people who do the work, and we're careful about who we bring in to represent us.

Workplace Partners, Built Different.
What We Are Recruiting For

We’re growing, and we’re looking for someone to hold the operational side together while we do it, and to grow into more than that.

You’ll work closely with our senior team, with real ownership of how the business runs day to day. The kind of role where things work because you make them work.

You’ll touch most of how we run day to day. That includes internal operations, client coordination, finance admin, paperwork, onboarding new clients, and supporting the Principal on diary, travel and the work behind the work. You’ll also help us keep our marketing and social activity moving. The role is broad on purpose.

In one sentence, we’re looking for a smart, organised, curious person who sees a problem, works out what needs doing, works out how to do it, and gets it done without being managed every five minutes.

We’re far more interested in what you’re capable of than in how long you’ve been working. You might already have some experience behind you, or this might be the role that gives you your first.

We don’t expect the job to stand still either. As you show us what you can do, you’ll take on more, and the role will grow with you.

What You Will Do
  • Run our day-to-day operational backbone, keeping internal systems, tools and records clean and up to date.
  • Support the Principal with diary, travel, expenses, scheduling and the practical work that keeps the business moving.
  • Coordinate the operational side of client engagements, including kickoff setup, scheduling, documentation and handover between phases.
  • Help run the client onboarding workflow end to end, from initial paperwork through to engagement go-live.
  • Manage and produce client and internal paperwork, including engagement documents, agreements, templates and supporting materials.
  • Support finance admin, including invoicing, expenses, supplier setup and keeping financial records accurate and current.
  • Coordinate client communications where appropriate, including scheduling, follow-ups, and keeping conversations on track.
  • Help run our marketing and social activity, including content, social posts, and keeping our presence consistent.
  • Help organise events, including industry attendance, internal moments and any client-facing activity we host.
  • Build and maintain the systems, templates and processes that make the business easier to run over time.
  • Bring ideas. Watch how the business works, flag what could be smoother, and have a view.
  • Take on work outside the normal remit of the role when something needs solving and you’re capable of owning it. That might be research, recruitment, commercial work, client projects, events, technology, presentations, procurement, or something we haven’t thought of yet. The list above isn’t your ceiling.
What You Bring
  • You’re bright and you learn quickly. You ask good questions, absorb information and don’t need constant instruction.
  • You’re organised. You keep track of the details, the deadlines, the meetings and the loose ends without being chased, and you catch the mistakes before anyone else does.
  • You have good judgement. You know what matters, what’s urgent, and when to come back and ask.
  • You’re resourceful and you finish things. When you don’t know how to do something you work it out, and you close the loop rather than leaving it half open.
  • You write well. An email, a message, a post or a document, and it lands.
  • You have good taste, and it shows in anything client-facing.
  • You’re confident with technology. You’re happy learning new software and using AI tools rather than being wary of them.
  • You’re good with people. You can hold your own with clients, partners, colleagues and people you’ve never met.
  • You’re discreet. You’ll see sensitive business and personal information, and it stays with you.
About You
  • You’re proactive. You see what needs doing and do it rather than waiting to be told.
  • You can point to something you’ve made happen on your own initiative. A part-time job while you studied, a society you ran, an event you organised, a social account you built, something you sold, a side project, a family business you helped out in, or something useful you taught yourself. It doesn’t need to be professional. It does need to be yours.
  • You’re commercially curious. You want to understand how the business actually makes money, and you ask why things are done the way they are, occasionally coming back with a better way.
  • You have no ego about the work. Happy on mundane admin one minute and a genuinely interesting project the next.
  • You’re ambitious. You want to develop, not sit in an administrator’s chair indefinitely.
  • You’re resilient and flexible. Things change constantly here, and that suits you.
  • You’re comfortable working in person from our Manchester base, alongside the Principal and the wider Hoxton team. We don’t operate as a remote or hybrid business by default.
Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with everyday business tools and platforms.
  • Interest in workplace, design, property or business as broader topics.

Why Hoxton

Hoxton isn’t a big firm with layers of hierarchy and well-worn playbooks. We’re building something different.

Joining us means being in the work, not around it. You’ll sit close to senior people, see how the business runs, and have a real hand in shaping it.

Your work will go out into the world. Not into a folder.

If you want a predictable environment with rigid structures, Hoxton isn’t the right place.

If you want real responsibility and the chance to build alongside us, you’ll feel at home here.
