Avove is expanding for a major energy infrastructure project and is hiring an Arborist Team Leader to oversee field teams on-site. You will manage work programmes, ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards, and drive performance against contract targets.

The role requires NPTC Utility Arb qualifications and strong leadership skills, with responsibilities spanning risk assessments, method statements, and client liaison on a large-scale project.

Qualifications

• Key Mandatory Utility Arb NPTC Qualifications 0039-20 to 23: Chainsaw Maintenance, Small Tree Felling, Climb Trees & Perform Aerial Rescue, Chainsaw from a Rope & Harness.
• Further desirable Utility Arb NPTC Qualifications 0039-31 to 38: Aerial Pruning & Rigging, Medium & Large Tree Felling, Windblown trees, MEWP operations.
• Emergency First Aid at Work & Forestry First Aid Typical Utility Arb NPTC Progression Training on Recruitment 302 to 305: Tree Species Recognition, Ground & Aeriel Pruning, Pole Top Rescue

Responsibilities

• Manage work programmes to ensure on-site work is issued and carried out to the required standard with minimal risk.
• Ensure procedures, safe methods and environmental practices are followed and implemented.
• Ensure work specifications and method statements are completed and provided to operational teams.
• Ensure field staff understand and implement risk assessments and method statements.
• Set high standards and targets for direct and contract staff in line with contract and company objectives.

The contract has now doubled in size to approximately £10 million per annum and is secured for a full six-year period. This enables us to launch a significant recruitment drive focused on long-term planning, investment in people, and cutting-edge equipment.

What Will Your Day Look Like…

• Managing work programmes to ensure work is issued and carried out to the required standard with minimum risk to employees, sub-contractors and others on site, ensuring safe compliant delivery.
• Ensuring operational procedures, safe working methods and best environmental practices are followed and fully implemented.
• Ensuring that work specifications and method statements are fully completed and provided to and your operational teams.
• Ensuring that your field staff teams understand and implement risk assessments, method statements
• Setting high standards and workload delivery targets for direct and contract staff in-line with contract and company objectives.
• Managing client relationships
