Operations and Maintenance Engineer

Based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom (Remote)

Telent enables everyday technology, from phones to transportation. We are recruiting an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to work on Highways England Contracts, performing maintenance and commissioning activities within designated areas including the M25, M4, M11, M1, A14, M40, and A1(M).

Do you enjoy working with a supportive team and using your initiative to solve field problems? Our engineers are vital for maintaining, installing, cabling, and civils works, helping keep the nation's infrastructure connected and protected 24/7.

Responsibilities include:

• Attending to cable breaks and repairs on copper and fibre cables.
• Completing equipment commissioning to standard, on time and within budget.
• Addressing equipment issues in Transmission Buildings and Roadside Cabinets, day or night.
• Performing general maintenance and testing on fibre and copper equipment.
• Completing all required documentation promptly.

Candidate Profile:

Previous experience in a similar role, with familiarity in fault finding and testing in fibre or copper environments.

Key Requirements:

• Experience with motorway communications or similar systems.
• Knowledge of telecommunications networks, copper jointing, and fibre splicing/testing.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Ability to repair fibre or copper cable breaks.
• Willingness to work overtime or on call when required.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
