Operations and Maintenance Engineer

Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom (Remote)

We are recruiting an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to work on Highways England Contracts, focusing on maintenance and commissioning activities within designated motorway areas such as the M25, M4, M11, M1, A14, M40, and A1(M).

Join a supportive team and use your initiative to solve field problems. Your role involves delivering maintenance, installation, cabling, or civils works critical to the nation's infrastructure, ensuring connectivity and safety 24/7.

Responsibilities include:

• Attending to cable repairs on copper and fibre networks.
• Completing equipment commissioning to standard, on time and within budget.
• Responding to equipment issues in transmission buildings and roadside cabinets.
• Performing general maintenance and testing on fibre and copper cables.
• Completing documentation accurately and timely.

Candidate Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role, with fault finding and testing in fibre or copper environments. Knowledge of telecommunication networks, copper jointing, fibre splicing & testing, and health & safety awareness. Ability to work overtime or on call as needed. A full UK driving license is essential.
