Job summary

Alstom is recruiting for a Depot Operations role in Wolverhampton. You will coordinate movements and shunting to prepare locomotives for maintenance and delivery, while ensuring safety and efficiency. The team works to maintain schedules and adhere to standards across the depot.

Appointment Basis: Permanent

Salary + Benefits: £42,644.86 + 18.5% Shift Allowance

Your future role:

To work andcoordinate a team, includingmovements, shunting and stabling rolling stock to include locomotives in a safe and efficient mannerin preparation for train maintenance and delivery.

We'll look to you for:

• Checking of relevant notices and computer generated prints
• Record vehicle numbers, arrival and departure times
• Authorising all movements within the Depot
• Monitor all shunting activities ensuring compliance with current standards
• Signing in of drivers
• Carry out rules assessments as required ( If qualified)
• Responsible for Overhead Isolations form AS
• Monitor and control washplant activities
• Validate train formations
• Maintain logs as required
• FLT Driving
• Sanding
• Fuelling and system top up
• General depot duties e.g.: Line of Routes
• Chlorinating water points
• Primary fault finding/reporting
• Gritting of walkways in severe weather conditions and/or exceptional circumstances
• Depot cleaning/general housekeeping (This Will have no impact on Cleaners headcount)
• Driving company vehicles if certified
• Taking of fuel meter readings off rail vehicles
• Train cleaning by exception (This Will have no impact on Cleaners headcount)
• Alista, SAP and SES input
• Crane driving and lifting equipment where training has been provided & competent
• Appointed persons
• Mentoring others as and when required
• Nominated person as required
• Additional training for future similar roles/types of equipment
• Train driving of all types of unit to site
