Job description

Operational Resilience Specialist – Salary circa £55,000 (DOE)

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Operational Resilience team. Operational resilience is a crucial outcome that Aviva must achieve for our customers, ensuring that we can continue delivering critical operations during disruptions.

As an Operational Resilience Specialist, you will play a key role in helping Aviva realize these goals. If you are passionate about making a difference for our customers, we would love to hear from you!

About the role:

You will collaborate with UK Market Leads, providing governance and SME support to Group Operational Resilience and the wider business. This role offers the chance to gain in-depth knowledge of how Aviva’s UK businesses operate and to support the resilience of key services, preventing intolerable harm to customers. It is suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment and adapts well to change.

Your focus will be on ensuring the resilience of the AIG Life Protection business, acquired by Aviva in 2024. You will engage with stakeholders from both Aviva and AIGL to understand evolving landscapes and incorporate resilience into relevant decisions.

Skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in operational resilience within the Financial Services sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and meet short-term deadlines while progressing long-term goals.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Proactive in identifying and implementing improvements.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and exercise good judgment on when to involve others.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary around £55,000, depending on experience.
  • Bonus of up to 10% of annual salary, based on performance.
  • Generous pension scheme with contributions up to 14%.
  • 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, with options to buy or sell additional days.
  • Discounts on Aviva products and other retailers, up to 40%.
  • Up to £1,200 of free Aviva shares annually through our Share Plan and Save As You Earn scheme.
  • Supportive policies including parental and carers' leave.
  • Flexible benefits, including sustainability options like cycle-to-work.
  • Paid volunteering days and community involvement.
  • Comprehensive wellbeing support and tools.

Inclusivity:

We are committed to diversity and welcome applications from all backgrounds. Even if you do not meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply. We support flexible working arrangements, including part-time and job sharing, and adapt locations, hours, and patterns to suit our team and customers.
