Job description

Job Opportunity: Operational Lead

We are offering a fixed-term contract/secondment opportunity for up to 18 months. Internal applicants interested in a secondment should discuss suitability with their line manager.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead, develop, and enhance our service provision for colleagues working in our medical and Advanced Practice services across Gloucestershire's Community Hospital Inpatient Units.

The Operational Lead will oversee the entire service, working closely with site Matrons and senior leadership to ensure a cohesive and effective medical and Advanced Practice offer. Responsibilities include ensuring high-quality delivery, resource management, service transformation, and strengthening operational governance.

Requirements

The Operational Manager will be responsible for delivering high-quality medical and Advanced Practice workforce services, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with governance standards. Key duties include:

  • Collaborating with directorate support partners to oversee trainees and qualified Advanced Practitioners, supporting their development and qualification attainment.
  • Contributing to workforce planning and organizational resilience considerations alongside operational managers.
  • Developing a directorate faculty for Advanced Practice in partnership with clinical and medical leadership.
  • Creating policies to promote best practices and meet patient needs.
  • Providing pastoral support to APs and tAPs, advocating for their needs, and fostering collaboration.
