Job summary

Müller UK & Ireland invites motivated placement students to join the Operational Excellence (OPEX) team at our flagship dairy in the UK. Over 13 months you will work on real improvement projects, gain leadership exposure, and develop skills in data analysis, problem solving, and change management.

As a placement student you will collaborate with the Site Leadership Team and Central OPEX community to deliver measurable improvements across safety, quality, cost and delivery.

Qualifications

• Exceptional communication skills with all levels of staff.
• Proactive self-starter who can drive projects forward.
• Adaptable in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Basic understanding of operational excellence principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and digital tools.
• Hold a full UK driving licence (at least 1 year).
• Eligible to work in the UK (not sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with site leadership to deliver improvement projects.
• Support and lead elements of continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyze performance data to identify opportunities and waste.
• Participate in structured problem-solving using Six Sigma tools.
• Assist in deploying lean/TPM tools (SMED, 5S, RCA).
• Develop project plans, budgets and progress updates.
• Support change management to embed improvements.
• Demonstrate proactive personal development and teamwork.
