This role has out of hours responsibilities. You, along with the other members of the team, will provide on call support overnight and on weekends on a rota basis. You will also be asked to work flexibly during key annual trading periods, such as Christmas and Easter, following a 'five in seven' working pattern, including weekends.

What You'll Do
As the Operational Communications Manager at Sainsbury's, you will play a crucial role in driving progress against strategic commitments by planning and delivering effective operational communications across all Sainsbury's brands. Working closely with a team of communicators, you will ensure that colleagues receive timely and clear information to enable them to execute operational activities successfully, thus supporting productivity and right-first-time delivery. Your responsibilities will include crafting strategic narratives for operational communications, analysing data insights to enhance communication effectiveness, collaborating with cross-functional teams to simplify and improve communication channels, and providing support to store leaders in landing operational changes efficiently. Additionally, you will contribute to fostering a collaborative culture, setting clear goals for your direct report, and continuously seeking ways to improve operational awareness and team performance.
Who You Are
As the Operational Communications Manager, you are a strategic and proactive professional with a proven track record in planning and delivering operational communications within a large, complex organisation. With outstanding written and verbal communication skills, you excel in crafting clear and impactful messaging that drives colleague engagement and supports the delivery of strategic objectives. Your ability to build strong relationships, prioritise effectively, and adapt to changing situations with agility and pragmatism, enables you to lead a team in planning and executing operational communications that empower colleagues to deliver excellent customer service and operational performance.
