Finatal in London is seeking a Director to join the Value Creation team, focusing on Financial Services. You will partner with Partners, portfolio CEOs, CFOs and boards to drive value creation across investments.

The role blends strategic, commercial and operational improvement with deep industry knowledge, supporting deals from diligence to exit and serving as a senior sector specialist across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• 12+ years' experience across private equity value creation, operating partner teams, financial services, strategy consulting, private credit or related investment environments.
• Significant experience working with financial services businesses across lending, asset management, insurance, payments or other platforms.
• Demonstrable track record of delivering value creation within PE-backed, investor-owned or high-growth businesses.
• Strong understanding of the key levers that drive value in financial services companies.
• Experience working directly with CEOs, CFOs, boards, investors and senior management teams.
• Strong knowledge of financing and capital structures; exposure to structured finance advantageous.

Finatal is partnering with a leading mid-market private equity and private credit investment firm to appoint a Director within its Value Creation team, focused on Financial Services.

This is a senior, fund-level position working closely with the firm's Partners, investment professionals and portfolio company leadership teams to drive value creation across its financial services investments. The role will have particular responsibility for developing and executing value creation plans across portfolio businesses, combining strategic, commercial and operational improvement with a strong understanding of financial services and complex capital structures.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted adviser to portfolio company CEOs, CFOs and boards, supporting businesses from initial investment through to exit. The role will also work closely with deal teams around new investments, helping assess value creation opportunities during diligence and establishing clear post-acquisition plans.

Responsibilities:

• Lead value creation initiatives across the firm's financial services portfolio, working at fund level alongside investment teams and senior Partners
• Partner with portfolio company CEOs, CFOs and leadership teams to develop and execute value creation plans
• Drive strategic, commercial and operational improvement initiatives, with a focus on sustainable growth and increasing enterprise value
• Support portfolio businesses with capital strategy, financing, refinancing and balance sheet optimisation
• Identify and support buy-and-build strategies, including acquisition assessment, integration and post-deal execution
• Establish appropriate KPIs, governance frameworks and performance reporting across portfolio companies
• Support management teams through periods of transformation, underperformance or significant strategic change
• Work alongside investment teams during due diligence to assess operational opportunities, risks and potential value creation levers
• Provide ongoing portfolio insight to investment committees and senior Partners, identifying areas requiring intervention or additional support
• Support exit preparation, including operational readiness, strategic positioning and preparation for buyer due diligence
• Help further develop the firm's approach to value creation across Financial Services and act as a senior sector specialist across the portfolio

Requirements:

• 12+ years' experience across private equity value creation, operating partner teams, financial services, strategy consulting, private credit or related investment environments
• Significant experience working with financial services businesses, ideally across lending, specialty finance, asset management, insurance, payments or other financial-services platforms
• Demonstrable track record of delivering value creation within PE-backed, investor-owned or high-growth businesses
• Strong understanding of the key commercial, operational and financial levers that drive value within financial services companies
• Experience working directly with CEOs, CFOs, boards, investors and senior management teams
• Strong knowledge of financing and capital structures, with exposure to areas such as structured finance, asset-backed lending or acquisition finance advantageous
• Experience of buy-and-build strategies, business transformation or performance improvement would be highly relevant
• Ability to operate effectively between the fund, investment team and portfolio company, combining strategic judgement with a hands-on approach to execution
• ACA, ACCA, CFA, MBA or similar qualification welcomed but not essential
