Job summary
Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems, with Ubuntu at the core of cloud, AI, and data initiatives. We seek a software engineer to lead a regional team in delivering Python and Go based open source operations code across the Linux stack, from kernel to containers, while advancing a distributed, collaborative engineering culture.
You will design, implement, and test high-quality infrastructure solutions, participate in agile practices, and travel up to 10%
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python and Go.
- Experience with cloud platforms and distributed systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver open source software operations code using Python and Golang.
- Work across the Linux stack from kernel to networking and applications.
- Shape high quality open source monitoring and alerting infrastructure.
- Rethink open source operations for customers and the open source community.
- Demonstrate solid engineering design and testing in your code.
- Follow agile software development practices.
- Coach and develop colleagues with insights to grow the team.
- Foster a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with company values.
- Travel up to 10% of time for internal and external events.
