Job summary

Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems, with Ubuntu at the core of cloud, AI, and data initiatives. We seek a software engineer to lead a regional team in delivering Python and Go based open source operations code across the Linux stack, from kernel to containers, while advancing a distributed, collaborative engineering culture.

You will design, implement, and test high-quality infrastructure solutions, participate in agile practices, and travel up to 10%

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and Go.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver open source software operations code using Python and Golang.
  • Work across the Linux stack from kernel to networking and applications.
  • Shape high quality open source monitoring and alerting infrastructure.
  • Rethink open source operations for customers and the open source community.
  • Demonstrate solid engineering design and testing in your code.
  • Follow agile software development practices.
  • Coach and develop colleagues with insights to grow the team.
  • Foster a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with company values.
  • Travel up to 10% of time for internal and external events.
