After Hours Veterinary Care Assistant

Colchester Advanced Veterinary Practice, Vet Hospital

We provide 24-hour inpatient care, CT scans, endoscopy, arthroscopy, advanced orthopaedic procedures, ultrasound, laparoscopic procedures including spays, and more, similar to services offered by a first-opinion veterinary practice. To ensure optimal patient care and comfort, we have a dedicated Intensive Care Unit and four climate-controlled patient wards.

The primary focus of our After Hours VCAs is to offer exceptional, efficient multitasking support to our vets, nurses, and client care team from 6pm to 6:30am, four nights on, followed by five days off.

This role involves managing emergency and routine phone calls, patient care, equipment sterilization, laboratory work, stock control, hospital cleaning, and general housekeeping.

We seek a conscientious and attentive individual committed to providing the best supportive care to colleagues, clients, and patients. The ability to remain calm during veterinary emergencies or challenging situations is essential. The successful candidate will bring enthusiasm, drive, and a passion for service and pets.

You will join a talented, experienced, and friendly team of 18 vets and 40 support staff across two practices in Colchester.
