Job summary

XPO Logistics is hiring a Transport Supervisor to work onsite at Taunton, responsible for maintaining site compliance and supporting the Transport Manager to achieve short, medium and long-term objectives.

You will coordinate subcontractors and the outbound fleet, supervise drivers, and ensure Health & Safety rules are followed, with emphasis on performance monitoring and incident reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising and developing a team within a complex transport environment.
• Proven understanding of compliance and driver hours.
• Computer literate for emails, dispatches, and handovers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate subcontractors and outbound fleet to ensure on-time deliveries and proper issue reporting.
• Debrief drivers and record procedures where required.
• Assist with driver account setup and troubleshooting of the XPO tracking app.
• Operate transport management systems and resolve issues.
• Enforce Health & Safety rules at customer sites and report near misses.
• Carry out weekly inspections and safety monitoring.
• Log incidents and upload documentation to systems.
• Manage PPE and uniform requirements.
• Support team members and maintain a positive working environment.
• Assist Transport Manager with financial tasks including P&L reviews.
• Support additional duties to aid operations.
• Demonstrate flexibility and proactive service excellence.
