Job summary

SEA Ltd in Barnstaple is seeking a Production Engineering Technician to provide hands-on support across production and engineering, including problem triage and tooling calibration. The role is based on-site at the Barnstaple site, with 4–5 days on site per week.

The position offers exposure to manufacturing processes, process improvements and the development of visual controls and standard operating instructions. Salary up to £32k depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing settings focusing on quality triage and process improvements.
• Ability to read and interpret designs and technical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving skills with calm under pressure and attention to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support triage of quality problems across production, engineering and wider business areas.
• Attend daily GEMBA meetings as appropriate.
• Design and introduce jigs and fixtures to enhance production processes.
• Maintain calibration of production tooling and associated documentation.
• Develop and maintain standard operating instructions and manufacturing docs.
• Support production layout changes to increase capacity and efficiency.
• Conduct time studies to identify waste and streamline processes.
• Assist in verification/validation activities for equipment and processes.
