Job summary

Robson Handling Technology Ltd is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter for our Service Team in the UK. The role starts at Tradesman level with development toward a Supervisor position, and candidates with supervisory experience are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will assemble, install and service equipment onsite, adhering to safety and quality standards while maintaining detailed records and collaborating with engineering to improve equipment performance.

Qualifications

• NVQ or City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering is advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to read basic engineering drawings accurately.
• Experience as a fitter or in a similar mechanical role.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install mechanical handling equipment according to drawings and specs.
• Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure smooth operation.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs to minimise downtime.
• Document maintenance activities and report faults promptly.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve equipment design and functionality.
• Review risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment.
• Adhere to permit systems and safety protocols.
• Complete job sheets and manage PPE and timesheets.
• Maintain on-site safety and record-keeping procedures.
