Job summary

Contek Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced Project Manager/Engineering professional to own technically complex onsite machining projects from enquiry through to commercial close-out. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical engineering or heavy engineering background with experience leading teams on customer-site environments across the UK and internationally.

Responsibilities include coordinating labour, equipment, tooling, and subcontractors, developing execution

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical understanding and ability to interpret drawings, specs and tolerances.
• Experience leading engineers, technicians or subcontractors on customer-site environments.
• Commercial awareness balancing programme, cost and quality with safety.
• RAMS and permit systems knowledge for industrial projects.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Own onsite machining projects from enquiry to close-out and mobilisation.
• Attend customer meetings and site surveys to define scope and acceptance criteria.
• Develop safe, practical execution methods with sales, engineering and operations.
• Prepare estimates, quotations, programmes and mobilisation requirements.
• Coordinate labour, equipment, tooling, and subcontractors within approved budgets.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams of 2–20 onsite and act as main project contact.
