Job summary

INEOS Chemicals Grangemouth Limited is seeking a CAT 2 Inspection Engineer to support in-service examinations of process piping, vessels and tanks at Grangemouth. This on-site role demands practical knowledge of risk-based inspection and relevant standards.

You will prepare Written Schemes of Examination, carry out examinations, write technical reports and work with stakeholders to ensure continued safe operation.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical or materials engineering or HNC in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum five years' experience performing in-service examinations at a high-hazard petrochemical site.
• Knowledge of PSSR and COMAH, PUWER & PE(S)R.
• Experience with design codes such as ASME, API, British Standards and EEMUA.
• Strong report writing and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time and priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review Written Schemes of Examination for piping, vessels, tanks and equipment.
• Carry out examinations in accordance with the Written Schemes of Examination.
• Review NDT techniques and accept results where appropriate.
• Write clear technical reports detailing examination results in a timely manner.
• Assess deterioration and calculate degradation rates to support continued operation.
• Identify repairs and raise recommendations for remedial action.
• Participate in risk based inspection studies.
