Job summary

Babcock is seeking an Estates Ground Worker to join the team at Devonport Royal Dockyard, delivering a range of grounds maintenance and civil works critical to keeping the site safe and operational every day.

You’ll work on reactive and planned tasks, install and maintain drainage and safety infrastructure, and support tarmacking, concreting, barriers, and other groundwork activities with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience in groundwork, construction, maintenance or related civil engineering activities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Confidence communicating with customers, colleagues and stakeholders.
• Ability to work across a large operational site and undertake physically active duties.
• Good understanding of groundwork and maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive and planned grounds maintenance tasks.
• Install and maintain drainage covers and related infrastructure.
• Complete tarmacking and concreting works on site.
• Install and maintain safety structures such as Armco barriers and railings.
• Support civil engineering and groundwork activities to maintain site safety and functionality.
