Job summary

AWE is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join the Internal Dosimetry Service Team (IDST). The role is fully onsite between Reading and Basingstoke, with a 9-day working fortnight and generous annual leave benefits.

The successful candidate will perform radiochemical analyses, support dose assessments, and contribute to the development of laboratory methods to ensure high-quality data for regulatory and operational needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in a laboratory or scientific environment.
• Ability to follow procedures and quality requirements.
• Strong record-keeping and documentation.
• Independently and in a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiochemical analyses on biological samples.
• Interpret data and prepare technical reports.
• Manage day-to-day lab activities including calibration and maintenance.
• Ensure safety, quality, and compliance through Safe Systems of Work.
• Support continuous improvement of lab methods.
