Job summary

AWE Aldermaston is seeking a Technologist to join the Metals and Tritium Group. Located between Reading and Basingstoke with free onsite parking, the role offers a starting package and a 9-day working fortnight.

You will prepare samples, perform chemical analysis, develop procedures, calibrate instruments, and ensure compliance with EH&S and quality standards in a nuclear threat reduction context. This on-site position emphasizes technical capability, data interpretation, and teamwork, with

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in an analytical laboratory.
• Experience using, calibrating, commissioning, validating and maintaining analytical instrumentation.
• Ability to interpret complex chemical data sets and make sound technical judgements.
• Strong IT skills, particularly within the Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples using wet chemistry techniques.
• Perform chemical analysis using a range of analytical techniques and instrumentation.
• Review and contribute to procedure and process development and compliance.
• Maintain, calibrate and run a range of analytical instrumentation.
• Process, interpret and report measurement test data at the required quality standard to specified timescales.
• Satisfy all legislative, regulatory and stakeholder requirements.
• Assist in programme reviews, development, innovations and implementation.
• Understand and apply Company Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards.
