Job summary

AXA XL – UK & Lloyd’s Construction Practice is seeking a mid-level Underwriter II for construction and operational onshore renewable energy projects. You will underwrite CAR/EAR risks, manage portfolios, and engage brokers to grow a profitable book.

Strong renewables and construction market knowledge, Excel skills, and broker networks are essential. The role reports to the Head of Construction, UK & Lloyd’s, and emphasizes risk assessment, pricing, and client service in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience underwriting onshore renewable energy projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction and renewable energy markets and risk drivers.
• Network of brokers and clients within renewable energy sector.

Responsibilities

• Underwriting & Portfolio Management: review submissions and analyze risk quality.
• Pricing risks considering technical costs, reinsurance, and expenses.
• Underwriting within authority levels and forecasting.
• Monitor exposures, premium income and portfolio performance.
• Client & Broker Engagement: build relationships and advise on risk management.
• Policy & Claims Oversight: review reports and manage endorsements.
