Job summary

Kent is seeking expressions of interest from experienced environmental professionals for the Onshore Environmental Specialist role. The position is open for freelance contractors in the UK to support diverse projects related to sustainable energy. This role will involve high-level report writing, stakeholder management, and engagement across various stages from concept to commissioning.

Qualifications

• Experience with offshore/onshore wind and low carbon technologies is valued.
• Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and project lifecycles.
• Freelance availability on inside and outside IR35 basis.

Kent’s Environment Team welcomes expressions of interest from experienced environmental professionals working on a freelance/contracting basis in the UK to support the team’s growth and workload. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact and support the sustainable energy transition.

We welcome interest from UK-based environmentalists with a range of onshore skills/experience in the energy sector to help us deliver projects at various stages; from concept through and feasibility, FEED and consenting, through to commissioning and construction. We are particularly interested in hearing from professionals with skills and experience in:
•Offshore / onshore wind, oil and gas, overhead lines and low carbon (including carbon capture, energy-from-waste and sustainable aviation fuel);
•EIA co-ordination for TCPA / DCO schemes;
•UK-wide project experience;
•Environmental engineering, including delivering ENVIDs and BAT studies;
•Providing inputs across the project lifecycle.

Please note that at this stage, we are only looking for environmentalists working on a freelance / contract basis on both an inside and outside IR35 basis. Key Deliverables:
The deliverables and services required will vary depending on the project and scope required. However, at a broad basis, the following will be required:
-Report writing to a high standard, for both internal and external audiences
-Close liaison with internal and external project stakeholders
-Potential for technical report writing
-Management of and/or input to Project Management documents
