Job summary

Prospero Teaching are seeking experienced Online Tutors to support pupils in the Essex area. You will deliver 1:1 online or home visits, focusing on maths, English or science for SEN students with EHCPs, and help re-engage learners who have been out of education for a while.

The role offers part-time or full-time hours by arrangement, a minimum of 1 hour per session up to 3 hours, and a minimum pay rate of 25 per hour, with pay scales linked to experience.

Qualifications

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months experience in a UK school.
• Safeguarding training within the last year is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 tailored online or home-based lessons to bridge gaps in pupil education and boost attainment.
• Plan and adapt sessions to meet each pupil's SEN needs and behavioral requirements.
• Engage pupils to rebuild confidence and establish a structured learning routine.

Online Tutors - Essex

Prospero Teaching are looking for experienced Online Tutors in or around the Essex area, to provide tuition for children who may have a range of special educational needs or behavioural needs. Specialising in the subjects of Maths, English and Science.

As a Tutor, you must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lesson to bridge gaps in pupil's education and boost engagement and attainment levels. Most of these pupils will have been out of education for some time, so their confidence levels may be very low. It is your responsibility to reengage them in their learning and offer structure back into their daily routine.

The students that require support are often SEN pupils with EHCP's. Tuition often takes place at home and will be in and around Essex. A strong background in supporting SEN pupils with autism, SEMH, and complex needs would be essential for this role.

• Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate 25 per hour. The hourly rate will be in line with professional pay scales where these are available or based on experience if they are not available.
• Hours - Working hours can differentiate, minimum 1 hour per session and a maximum of 3 hours per session

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent
• 6 months+ experience working in a UK school
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)

To be eligible for this role, the potential Online Tutors MUST:

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references.
• Have access to a personal computer and the internet.

The successful candidate will be required to register and have passed all safeguarding/vetting checks with Prospero Teaching in order to fill this vacancy. Any adult working with children and vulnerable young people are responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of the children and young people.
