Prospero Teaching is seeking a SEN English & Maths Tutor to deliver bespoke 1:1 education packages for young people with Special Educational Needs who are currently out of school or require additional support. You will plan and deliver tailored English and Maths lessons to bridge gaps and improve engagement.

Role involves working with pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or Dyslexia, providing structure, encouragement and consistent tuition.

Competenze

• QTS/QLTS/PGCE or equivalent tutoring qualification.
• Minimum 6 months UK experience with children/young people.
• Experience supporting SEN including ASD/ADHD/SEMH or learning difficulties.

Prospero Teaching is looking for an SEN English & Maths Tutor to deliver bespoke education packages on a 1:1 basis to young people with Special Educational Needs who are currently out of school or require additional support.

As an SEN Tutor, you will create, plan and deliver tailored English and Maths lessons that meet the individual needs of each learner. You will support pupils to bridge gaps in their education, improve engagement, build confidence, and achieve their academic goals.

Many of the students supported through this role may have been out of education for a period of time and may present with needs such as Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, Dyslexia. Your role will be to re-engage them with learning and provide structure, encouragement, and consistency through personalised tuition.

Contract/position details:

Location: Erith (DA8)

Position: SEN English & Maths Tutor

Type of Work: 1:1 Tuition

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Ongoing, dependent on individual student requirements

Contract Type: Temporary / Contract

Full Time/Part Time: Flexible, depending on availability

Minimum Rate of Pay: 25 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

Hours: Minimum 1 hour per session, maximum 3 hours per session

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging one-to-one English and Maths tuition sessions.
• Adapt lessons to meet individual SEN requirements.
• Develop personalised learning plans and resources.
• Build positive relationships with students and families.
• Monitor and report on student progress.
• Support students in developing confidence, independence, and academic skills.

Experience, training and qualifications:

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, Teaching Qualification, Degree, or equivalent tutoring experience.
• Minimum 6 months' experience working with children or young people in the UK.
• Experience supporting students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties.
• Strong subject knowledge in English and Maths.
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable but not essential).

To be eligible you must:

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
• Hold an enhanced child-barred DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application.
• Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years.
