Job summary

Asda is seeking an Online Trading Manager to set the online commercial strategy for George Soft Home categories and drive sales and profit. You will lead the team to deliver a fast, friendly online experience and work with trading, digital and marketing teams to execute the online strategy for General Merchandise.

This maternity cover role is based at George House, Lutterworth, with hybrid working and a 12-month fixed term contract.

Qualifications

• Experience in buying, merchandising or eComm is preferred but not essential.
• Analytical and data-driven, able to use data to optimise results.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with people at all levels.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to change.

Responsibilities

• Set the online commercial strategy for GM Soft lines and drive sales and profit.
• Lead product onboarding to ensure customer-focused information and highlights.
• Oversee visual merchandising and taxonomy to maximise on-site shopping experience.
• Champion end-to-end execution for all online activity with trading and marketing teams.
• Develop activity plans from insights to maximise acquisition, retention and loyalty.
• Identify opportunities to increase conversion, cross-sell and basket size.
• Participate in key strategic projects and weekly cross-functional reviews.

We are looking for an Online Trading Manager to set the Online commercial strategy for George Soft Home categories, driving sales and profit for the channel, managing the product onboarding process and online journey. Leading the team to ensure we deliver an easy, fast and friendly online customer experience on site. Working in partnership with strategic, digital and trading teams to define and execute the online strategy for General Merchandise.

This is a maternity cover role to join the business on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. Based in George House, Lutterworth.

What You'll Love

• Leading the team responsible for online sales and profit targets for GM Soft lines.
• Develop, shape and deliver departmental ranging strategies to maximise customer demand whilst growing profit contribution for the channel short to long term.
• Oversee the Product onboarding process ensuring that all product information is customer focussed, highlights key selling features and accurate.
• Responsible for visual merchandising across the site, showcasing the product to make shopping easy ensuring all taxonomy, categories and PLP's are effectively merchandised.
• Champion end to end execution for all activity ensuring full availability and optimum customer experience onsite. Working closely with core trading teams, and marketing teams to manage in season trading.
• Be an expert on our online customer and competitor landscape, understand behaviour to build relevant activity plans that maximise commercial benefit, focusing on customer acquisition, retention, and brand loyalty.
• Look for opportunities to increase conversion rate, cross sales and drive bigger baskets.
• Understand and utilise the insight from analytical merchandising, industry insight and market data to deliver a visual merchandising approach that maximises sales.
• Plays a key role for the Online Trade & Merchandise team in relevant key strategic projects and meetings, including senior GM cross functional weekly reviews.
